Requirements :
- A grade 12 certificate and Relevant degree or National diploma (NQF level 7) qualification in Financial Accounting or Financial management as recognised by SAQA. At least three (3) years’ relevant experience at a supervisor level in financial accounting or management. In-depth knowledge including government banking procedures, Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations and safety Net, Persal, Financial delegations, Departmental Policies and Procedures and Basic Accounting System (BAS), Knowledge of Suspense/Control Accounts, Knowledge of Personnel Staff Code as well as PSCBC resolution 3 of 1999, good communication (verbal and written), Management, Analytical , Financial Auditing, Problem Solving and Computer Skills (MS Office package). Additional qualification in supply chain management will be added advantage.
Duties :
- Produce complete, accurate quarterly, interim and annual financial statements including coordination of request for information (RFI), communication of audit findings, and liaise with Auditor general of South Africa (AGSA). Manage accurate processing of financial transactions in respect of salaries and S & T claims. Monitor payroll certification process and ensure compliance to National Treasury deadlines. Ensure complete and accurate processing of sundry payments, efficient bookkeeping and banking, ensure effective movement of debtors and loss control (in respect of irregular expenditure, fruitless and wasteful expenditure and unauthorized expenditure). Manage personnel and risk management, prepare reports for the CEO including Quarterly reviews and raise revenue. Manage expenditure in line with the allocated budget.

About the Dis-Chem Dispensary Support Learnerships 2026
The Dis-Chem Learnership Programme is designed to develop future pharmaceutical professionals by offering structured learning, both theoretical and practical, in a real-world dispensary setting. Learners will complete a Basic Pharmacist Assistant Course and gain practical work experience under the guidance of qualified pharmacists.
Learners will be employed on a fixed-term contract as Dispensary Support staff until they are officially registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). Upon successful completion of the learnership and SAPC registration, learners may be offered permanent employment within Dis-Chem Pharmacies.
Key Responsibilities
As a Dispensary Support Learner, your duties will include:
- Selling Schedule 1 medicines or scheduled substances
- Assisting in the compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile medicines under pharmacist supervision
- Unpacking and merchandising pharmaceutical stock
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of dispensary and OTC (Over-the-Counter) areas
- Interpreting prescriptions and ensuring accurate picking, packing, labelling, and checking of medication
- Supporting stock control processes and monitoring expiry dates
- Tracking prescriptions and scheduling patient follow-ups
- Handling call centre scripts and telephone support for patients
- Providing general health-related information and guidance to customers
- Assisting with medical aid scheme authorizations (e.g., chronic, HIV/AIDS, oncology meds)
- Reporting stock issues or low stock levels to the Dispensary Manager
- Receiving dispensary stock in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the Dispensary Support Learnership, you must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate with:
- Pure Mathematics
- Physical Science or Life Science
- Minimum average of 50% in Matric subjects
